| ECI Trade Rules Update |
In response to FDA regulations regarding Production, Storage, and Transportation of Shell Eggs, the Egg Clearinghouse Board of Directors has amended the ECI Trade Rules to add the following:
"Members must comply with FDA regulations regarding Production, Storage, and Transportation of Shell Eggs (21 CFR Parts 16 and 118). Members must notify ECI if any eggs offered for sale through ECI originate from environments that have tested positive for Salmonella Enteritidis (SE) or originate from flocks whose eggs have tested positive for SE. Members who fail to notify ECI or fail to comply with FDA regulations must indemnify ECI, the buyers, or any other harmed party for any resulting damages."
The regulations went into effect July 9, 2010.
